Advancing Traditional Media Conference: Thoughts
The Prefix sales team (Josh, Paulo and Jacques) are currently in Cape Town for this conference. Not only are we sponsors of the event but we were invited to make a presentation on the ideal “New Media Production Room”. You can see the slideshow below.
This event is OPA (online publishers association of south africa) endorsed, and this assisted in bring together an interesting collection of people. This event has been very encouraging for the industry. Many traditional and new media publishers were represented (well over 100 delegates) and the speakers have been fantastic so far. Media24 reps covered many economic arguements around the state of publishing and our future (CEO JP Farinah was particularly insightful) and there was for the first time representatives of the legal fraternity (Andrew Rens and Dave Duarte) talking to publishers about creative commons and open-licensing models for content.
Sponsoring the event for us was very rewarding, and we look forward to engaging with the many publishers and other industry players we met over the two days.
